Down At Circes Place - Touch (2) - Touch (Vinyl, LP, Album)

Kudos to Static Shock for putting out this brutal record. Throughout Beyond The Floor, bleeding-raw shards of noise and pyrotechnic d-beat insanity fuel throat-ripping audio violence. Actually, I once saw Geld described as Disclose deconstructing free jazz, which works well too.

Geld perfectly blend breathless experimentalism with gut-punching hardcore, and all the barely corralled chaos on Beyond the Floor is a genre-trampling triumph. Highly recommended. Geld travels much further into the damp caves of noise rock, though, with a handful of tracks breaking the three-minute barrier, making space for psychedelic jamming and droning that causes the hardcore to hit that much harder.

Beyond the Floor is a dense LP with rich, velvety sonic textures throughout. Sometimes my ear gets lost in those textures, while sometimes I let the rhythms pound me in the gut. Mastered at Noise Room Shige. Streaming and Download help.

Blending influences as diverse as Brain Bombs, Hawkwind and Varukers, this is unique. Long Knife are the spiritual successors to Poison Idea, but to relegate them to copycat status is to miss the point.

Only a few in my own experience. Sometimes I use a second hand box when receiving large orders. But I only use the ones which still look good. Sometimes I use some extra tape around the sides. Some buyers otherwise might think that sellers charge to many shippingfees.

I absolutely hate the record sized mailers- seems like every time I get one there is a crushed corner. I disagree with Discogs on this — The cruciform mailers are not very good. Very good, except the bit about reusing a proper cruciform box—rubbish. Arrived ruined! Brilliant album ruined by a stupid seller. Totally agree that all members should be sent this after recieving there first order.

Perhaps even ply wood…. I ask sellers to minimize the mention that there are vinyl records inside the package, and to use excessive amounts of tape to secure the box. The USPS said it was my tough luck. I also now pay for insurance on all orders. I strongly advise against the use of bubble wrap. Only use cardboard as protective layers.

Bubble is not friendly to your record under pressure. I use the album mailers from Bags Unlimited. Insurance is a must just in case somebody swipes your stuff from your front porch. Very informative. Thank you! Good advice! First bubble-wrap around the vinyl itself and then stiffener cardboard, and remember to make the stiffener a bit larger than the bubble wrap. If using stiffeners within the package re-using mailers is almost common sense and certainly responsible in all regards.

Always hold a record by its outer edges only. If you accidentally touch a record, it is best to immediately clean it with a liquid record cleaner before putting it back in its sleeve. Keep your filthy paws off the playing surface of a record. Your T-shirt or towel is not a record cleaner Can I give my records a quick whisk with a towel? Resist the temptation to wipe your vinyl record with your shirt or dry cloth no matter how soft it may feel.

This will scratch and scuff the record and only move the dirt around. For dry cleaning or light touch up, use an anti-static record brush as it actually discharges static and lifts dirt without damaging the vinyl record. 6. Down At Circe’s Place is an underrated psychedelic classic with flanged vocals, a great spaced out guitar solo, powerful drum work, trippy sound fx,and noisy keyboard work – it’s got everything you’d want from an album like this. Touch hangs together as an album quite well and never succumbs to endless jamming or unfinished ideas.
